Karen Carr’s clinical background has been focused on critical care including work in Neuro/Trauma, Medical, Surgical, and Cardiac Intensive Care Units (ICU). In 1985, Karen was commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Air Force Nurse Corp, serving ten years of active duty and ten years reserve. After retiring from the U.S. Air Force Nurse Corp in 2006, Karen completed her master’s degree in healthcare leadership with a focus on education. She began her career in Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) in 2009 and is currently a CDI Practitioner at AHIMA, focusing on content development for CDI educational opportunities. She is an AHIMA-approved ICD-10-CM/PCS and CDI Trainer. Driven by excellence, her goals are to provide the most up-to-date and comprehensive CDI education to promote and facilitate individual and team CDI success.
